Ms. Adams joined Resmark in 1999. As the author of Resmark’s Responsible Contractor Policy (RCP) Training Manual, Ms. Adams implements responsible contractor training sessions with Resmark’s builder and EM partners, and other investor managers. She conducts an extensive education process that involves in-person review of the policy, training on the appropriate procedures, and monitoring of the communications of the builder partners, property managers and general contractors. She manages contract bidding opportunities for multiple trades under the Responsible Contractor Policy. She is also involved in the firm’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Previously, her responsibilities at Resmark included interacting with builder partners and escrow companies to ensure accurate and timely closings for sold units, investor reporting, audits, cash flow updates and oversaw insurance compliance for all Resmark properties.
Ms. Adams’ experience includes over 25 years in construction lending, bonds, report compliance and related duties for institutions including Premier Bank, Weyerhaeuser Mortgage Company, IndyMac (an affiliate of Countrywide Mortgage) and Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company.
Ms. Adams’ received her Real Estate Paralegal certification from UCLA, with a major in History, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Ms. Adams is a member of the National Notary Association. She is also currently a Board Member at Westmark School, an independent school located in Encino, California.
Mr. Barrett joined Resmark in 2020. Over his three decades in fundraising and real estate investment banking, he has led over $20 billion in capital raises in real estate, fixed income, hedge funds and private equity.
His prior experience includes building a highly successful corporate-oriented fixed income program as Managing Director at DLJ/Credit Suisse over 10 years and, earlier, eight years as Vice President in Merrill Lynch’s Real Estate Investment Banking Group.
Mr. Barrett holds an Master of Business Administration in Real Estate Finance from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Bethe joined Resmark in 2020. With three decades of experience in institutional investor fund raising he has secured over $10 billion of capital in various real estate, fixed income, private equity and venture capital investment programs.
Before joining Resmark, Mr. Bethe served as Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets at Kennedy Wilson. During his 10-year tenure as lead fundraiser and US Fund product developer, he raised capital from over 40 investors in five funds and built and managed the Capital Markets team. Previously he was a Senior Managing Director – Fixed Income Asset Management at Guggenheim Partners, Executive Director – Private Equity Funds Group at UBS Investment Bank, and Vice President – DLJ Investment Management at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Mr. Bethe holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from St. Mary’s College of California.
Mr. Bridges joined Resmark in 2020. He provides operational leadership for the development of Resmark’s residential master planned communities in Northern California. Mr. Bridges has over twenty five years of experience in land development, regulatory entitlements, and construction management. He has extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary development teams and provides oversight for all aspects of community development and disposition.
Prior to joining Resmark, Mr. Bridges held senior positions with IHP Capital Partners and Newland Communities, where he was responsible for the acquisition and development of master planned communities and residential projects in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
Mr. Bridges holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Planning from California State University, Chico and is a member of the American Planning Association.
Ms. Chahine joined Resmark in 2016, and possesses 20 years of accounting and finance experience. At Resmark, she oversees all financial reporting, investor accounting and reporting, is the lead liaison for the annual audit and tax work for all Resmark funds, and establishes processes for internal controls and operations.
Previously, Ms. Chahine was Corporate Controller at Arixa Capital Advisors, a private equity firm with various private lending real estate funds. Prior thereto, she was the Controller for Landmark Dividend, a private equity start-up, where she was an integral member of the executive team that managed the firm’s explosive growth from a single fund to a multi-fund platform.
Ms. Chahine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and is a certified public accountant, as well as a licensed California real estate broker.
Mr. Cohen joined Resmark in 2001. With more than 25 years of real estate experience, he has been involved in the financing and development of over 15,000 residential units in the United States and Israel. Mr. Cohen’s responsibilities include overseeing all of Resmark’s investment, underwriting and asset management activities. Under his leadership since 2011, Resmark’s multifamily division has acquired and developed over 5,500 units through joint venture and direct investments. Previously, Mr. Cohen established the firm’s Northern California division in 2003 and successfully expanded its Northern California operations. His responsibilities included evaluating and formulating strategy for the acquisition of large distressed bank portfolios. In late 2007, he also led Resmark’s emergence as a key player in the area of direct investments in land portfolios.
Prior to joining Resmark, Mr. Cohen was a member of Fieldstone Communities’ management team, where he was responsible for land acquisition and entitlements, product design, construction management, and sales and marketing operations for multiple projects. Before arriving in the United States, he served as an operations manager for Peled Residential Construction, overseeing the day to day development of several master planned communities in Southern Israel, and prior to that as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Mr. Cohen sits on the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Leadership Board. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tel Aviv University, and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
Mr. Cuoco recently joined Resmark as Senior Vice President, Investments and is primarily responsible for originating residential investments with publicly and privately held builders throughout the continental United States. Focused on growing the firm’s Model Home Sale Leaseback program, his duties include sourcing and screening new investment opportunities, negotiating business terms and structures, overseeing the underwriting, and closing of the new investments, and growing the client base in the model home portfolio.
Mr. Cuoco brings 40 years of experience in banking and real estate to Resmark. Before joining Resmark, Mr. Cuoco was a Vice President at Brookfield Residential, a national land development and homebuilding company. During his two-decade tenure there, he was a member of the Executive Management team and was responsible for land acquisition and disposition in Southern California markets. He was directly responsible for selling single-family detached lots in Brookfield master plan developments to third-party public and private builders. In addition, he managed relationships and represented Brookfield in land and homebuilding joint ventures with partners.
Prior thereto, he served as Land Acquisition Manager, Project Manager and Community Builder at K. Hovnanian Companies of California, the Irvine-based division of the national homebuilding company. In his role as a Community Builder, he was responsible for acquiring land for development and homebuilding; site planning; house design; and forward planning services. His duties included processing entitlements through final map and providing on-site management, including construction supervision, administration, budgeting, and sales.
Previously, Mr. Cuoco was Senior Vice President and Manager, Major Loans at Downey Savings, where his portfolio consisted of mortgage loans on income producing properties and interim construction loans to homebuilders. Earlier in his career he held positions in commercial lending, private banking and middle market business development at First Interstate Bank of California and at Union Bank.
Mr. Duffy joined Resmark in 2008 and leads business development and investment origination of the firm’s multifamily development investments, including build-for-rent communities, in the Western U.S. In addition, he currently manages a land portfolio comprised of assets located in Northern California and the greater Phoenix area.
Before rejoining Resmark, Mr. Duffy was Sr. Vice President at Avenida Partners, a developer and owner of premier market-rate active adult multifamily communities. At Avenida, he was co-leader of the firm’s land acquisition team, overseeing sourcing and feasibility analysis of site acquisitions in the company’s new and existing investment markets, as well as providing strategic input.
Mr. Duffy was instrumental in the launch of Resmark’s multifamily development platform in 2011. As Vice President, his duties included underwriting, due diligence, operational and development-related functions for multiple joint venture and wholly owned investments from inception through eventual disposition.
Prior thereto, Mr. Duffy held positions with SunCal Companies (a major developer of large-scale master plan communities), and Wells Fargo Bank. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Ms. Emmitt-Stern has been with Resmark since 2003 and possesses over 30 years of residential real estate investment experience with major financial institutions. At Resmark, she focuses on originating and underwriting residential investments in the Pacific and Pacific Northwest.
Formerly, she was the Managing Director of the Deutsche Bank Real Estate Group in Los Angeles, where she was responsible for overseeing the origination and management of the homebuilding investment program with CalPERS. Prior to that, Ms. Emmitt-Stern served as Vice President with Prudential Home Building Investors, supervising the origination and management of residential investments in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Previously, she managed residential investments throughout California and Nevada for Home Capital Corporation, a real estate subsidiary of HomeFed Bank.
She is a long-standing member of the Urban Land Institute (“ULI”) and served as Chair of the Community Development Council Green Flight. She has also participated on numerous industry panels for the National Association of Home Builders, Building Industry Association, ULI, Pacific Coast Builders Conference, and HomeAid.
Ms. Emmitt-Stern received a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and a Master of Education with an emphasis in Business from Bowling Green State University.
Mr. Goodman joined Resmark in 2003. As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees Resmark’s Capital Markets (both debt and equity), and manages Resmark’s banking relationships, loan originations, lines of credit, business development, and strategic planning initiatives and execution. In addition, he is responsible for cash management and treasury function, as well as administrative activities.
Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer, and began his career at Resmark as an Asset Manager overseeing a 3,000-unit portfolio of geographically and product diversified assets located in California, Arizona and Florida.
Mr. Goodman is a member of the Board of Directors of HomeAid America, the National Association of Home Builders Multifamily Leadership Board, and the Executive Committee of the Board of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate. In addition, he sits on the Anti-Defamation League’s National Commission and the Board of the organization’s Pacific Southwest Region. He attended the University of Southern California where he majored in Business Administration.
Robert N. Goodman is the Chairman and CEO of The Resmark Companies. The founder of Resmark, Mr. Goodman has an extensive background in the real estate industry, with over 40 years of experience in corporate finance, real estate finance, and asset management.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s Mr. Goodman’s predecessor company was one of the most innovative firms in the United States overseeing strategic repositioning and restructuring of defaulted real estate companies across multiple geographies and product types. During that period (representing bondholders and creditors), he was involved in more than $10 billion of restructurings for real estate companies, including Las Colinas Corporation, Angeles Corporation, Orleans Homebuilders and U.S. Homes, among others. In addition, Mr. Goodman was deeply involved in the initial underwriting and due diligence at the Playa Vista development, representing the interests of ULLICO.
Since establishing Resmark in 1995, he has guided approximately 250 investments comprised of more than 85,000 single-family and multifamily homes/units and lots. Some of Resmark’s clients/partners include Lennar Multifamily Communities, Greystar, Related Companies, Sares Regis, and Taylor Morrison, to name just a few. The company does business in California, the Western United States, Texas, and the D.C./Mid-Atlantic region.
Mr. Goodman has served on the boards of directors of four publicly traded companies, including two REITs. He currently sits on the Advisory Council of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate Advisory Board, and the National Advisory Council for Israel Bonds. For many years, he was on the boards of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, City of Hope National Medical Center (including two years as Chairman of the Beckman Research Institute), Bet Tzedek Legal Services, and Oakwood School (an independent K-12 school in North Hollywood, California).
Mr. Herrmann joined Resmark in 2012. He oversees the company’s finance, accounting and treasury departments and plays an active role in its many investment programs and long-range strategic planning.
Previously, he served as Vice President at EJL Homes, a successor company to national homebuilder John Laing Homes, where he was actively involved in all current projects and in identifying new housing development opportunities, along with managing the accounting and finance functions. He formerly held the position of Vice President, Corporate Development, at John Laing Homes, and also served in several other finance and accounting-related executive positions at the company.
Mr. Herrmann began his career at Ernst & Young in the real estate group. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics with a concentration in Accounting, and is a certified public accountant (inactive).
Mr. Jackson joined Resmark in 2021 and is responsible for business development and origination of land, single-family for-sale, multifamily development, and purpose-built single-family investments throughout Texas. His duties include sourcing, underwriting new opportunities, structuring joint venture partnerships, and overseeing investments within the region.
Prior to joining Resmark, Mr. Jackson served for over 20 years as Senior Vice President of Development and Acquisition at Grand Peaks Properties and Fairfield Residential. His responsibilities included market underwriting, site origination, pre-development and entitlements, contract negotiations, and participation in raising debt and equity. In addition, Mr. Jackson led project teams consisting of architect, engineers, consultants, and construction professionals.
Mr. Jackson attended Southern Methodist University and graduated with degrees in Real Estate Finance and Finance. He holds a real estate broker license in the state of Texas and is a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
Ms. Lynton joined Resmark in 2021. She oversees the firm’s asset management practice and is extensively involved in business plan development, new investment origination, asset and property management, and investor reporting. In addition, she also serves on Resmark’s Investment Committee and is involved with the company’s strategic initiatives and training programs.
Ms. Lynton brings the firm a wealth of commercial real estate experience in both private equity and various debt platforms with commercial banks as well as insurance and CMBS lending platforms. Her expertise includes acquisition, construction, disposition, lending, asset management, due diligence, underwriting, legal negotiations, workouts, and restructuring for multifamily, industrial, office, hospitality, and retail property types, most recently for JPMorgan’s Real Estate Banking group. Previously, she held positions with U.S. Bank, ING Real Estate Finance, Morgan Stanley CMBS and SunAmerica/AIG.
Ms. Lynton received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and attended the Leadership Development Program at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands. She is currently in the process of completing the Master of Real Estate Development program at the University of Southern California. Ms. Lynton volunteers her time with Heal the Bay, Delta Delta Delta sorority, and serves on the board of her twin daughters’ former preschool.
Ms. Migita joined Resmark in 2021. She provides strategic and legal advice across Resmark’s investment, underwriting, asset management, legal compliance and risk activities, and is also involved in the firm’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Before joining Resmark, Ms. Migita was an attorney at Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP, where she worked extensively on Resmark’s account with the law firm. She has broad transactional real estate experience, representing home builders, institutional investors, seniors housing owners and operators and other owners, developers and operators of real estate in individual property transactions as well as large multi-state portfolio transactions. Her experience includes all types of real property including land, residential, industrial, office, retail, multi-family, and seniors housing communities.
Ms. Migita received a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology and a Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southern California, and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).
Mr. O’Neil joined Resmark in 2011 and leads business development and investment origination of the firm’s for-sale and multifamily development investments in its Eastern U.S. markets. In addition, he actively oversees origination of Qualified Opportunity Zone investments, and manages financial analysis associated with Resmark’s capital raising efforts.
Previously, he was involved in all aspects of origination, due diligence, underwriting, and structuring of over $400 million of equity investments in development projects in Resmark’s Western U.S. markets.
Prior to his tenure at Resmark, Mr. O’Neil was a financial analyst and asset manager at IHP Capital Partners’ Washington, D.C. office.
Mr. O’Neil earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Middlebury College. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Jemicy School, an independent school in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Ms. Robinson joined Resmark in 2000 and possesses more than 30 years of experience managing residential investments. She is responsible for the oversight and investment management of a portfolio of projects throughout California and has managed approximately 15,000 residential lots/units to date.
Prior to joining Resmark, she served as Vice President of Institutional Housing Partners and Prudential Home Building Investors. In these positions she worked on originating, underwriting and managing residential real estate investments in the Western United States.
Prior to that, Ms. Robinson was Project Manager for the Lomas Santa Fe Group, where she was responsible for all facets of planning, developing and construction of mixed-used developments. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University.
Mr. Rush has been with Resmark since 2001 and is primarily responsible for originating residential investments throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, Arizona, and Nevada. His duties include sourcing and screening new investment opportunities, negotiating joint venture structures, and overseeing the closing of new investments through Resmark’s originations and underwriting departments.
Prior to joining Resmark, Mr. Rush served as market analyst at The Meyers Group where he was responsible for analyzing the viability of new home projects within various markets and contributed to producing market studies for Meyers’ clients. He currently is a member of the Building Industry Association. Mr. Rush earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
Mr. Sipowicz joined Resmark in 2013. His responsibilities include lease-up of wholly-owned development investments, strategy and business plan development, and investor reporting. He also plays a key role in assessing revenue and operational assumptions in the origination of new investments and directs all asset management and property operations management for Resmark’s joint venture and wholly-owned multifamily investments.
Previously, he served as Vice President at WintenAmerica, the United States commercial real estate operation of Australia’s Winten Development. At Winten, he was directly responsible for all business operations and compliance, including the management of over 70 multifamily investments and disposition of commercial real estate assets. His role also included management of loans, annual operating budgets, financial models, asset repositioning and value-add improvements, and marketing and sales strategies.
Before his tenure with Winten, Mr. Sipowicz was an underwriter, asset manager and special assets manager for Macquarie Investment Bank, where he established and maximized high-value business relationships and strategic alliances for successful operation and recurring business. His professional experience also includes positions at Union Bank and Fremont Investment & Loan.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business from California State University, Long Beach.
Ms. Thomas’ tenure with Resmark began in 1995. She is responsible for the company’s human resources, senior management training programs, internal systems and technical support, across Resmark’s four corporate office locations, as well as the internal audit functions. Additionally, Ms. Thomas supports Mr. Goodman with all corporate governance and corporate strategy across The Resmark Companies.
From 2000 until 2005, she served as corporate controller of Ascendent Telecommunications, before rejoining Resmark in 2006.
In addition to her extensive experience in human resources and accounting, Ms. Thomas is a published author and a transformational speaker. She received her post-secondary education at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ms. Thomas participates with various non-profit organizations including Alliance for Children’s Rights and Groceryships in Los Angeles.
Mr. Vanderhyde joined Resmark in 2014 and possesses over 15 years of experience in underwriting, lending and portfolio management of commercial and residential real estate. At Resmark, he manages for-sale residential investments in the Mid-Atlantic region. Formerly, he was Wells Fargo’s Vice President of the Commercial Real Estate Group in Washington, D.C.
Prior to that, Mr. Vanderhyde served as a Partner and VP of Marketing at Washington Custom Builders, where he was responsible for its redevelopment projects, and spearheaded a new division that focused solely on residential renovations. In prior years, Mr. Vanderhyde managed operations for Exxon/Mobil Oil Corporation.
Mr. Vanderhyde received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Mary Washington, and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Wagner joined Resmark in 2000 and possesses more than 30 years of real estate experience. He leads the financial reporting team at Resmark in duties including quarterly reports, investors reports and returns, and SEC compliance.
Before joining Resmark, he held positions at KB Home for 11 years, rising to Corporate Regional Controller. In that position, he was responsible for implementing best practice standards throughout 15 divisions encompassing California and five other Western states.
Prior to that, he served clients in real estate, healthcare, and small business development at Arthur Andersen & Company. A licensed certified public accountant by the State of California, he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in Economics from Loyola Marymount University.
Ms. Wilson has been with Resmark since 2013 and is responsible for the investment underwriting and due diligence activities on all new transactions.
With over 37 years of experience in the real estate industry, she has extensive experience in real estate related construction and development activities, asset/property management, insurance and accounting. At Resmark, she works closely with the EVP of Investment Underwriting on all aspects of the joint venture and wholly owned transactions in which the company invests.
Before joining Resmark, she worked for a private Southern California real estate development company for 23 years and ran a successful family owned property management company. Ms. Wilson received a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Business Management from San Diego State University.
Ms. Wilson has been with Resmark since 2005 and performs all investment underwriting functions for the company. With over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, she has extensive experience in evaluating and executing large scale and complex projects. Her expertise spans the acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, financing, leasing, non-performing asset repositioning, management, and disposition of projects in the residential, multifamily, retail, office, industrial, land, and hospitality markets.
Ms. Wilson oversees joint venture and direct residential transaction underwriting, due diligence and documentation/closing functions for the company’s for-sale single family housing and multifamily investments. At Resmark, she has documented and closed over 180 transactions encompassing more than 24,000 units throughout the United States, with total capital committed in excess of $2.5 billion to date.
Before joining Resmark, she was Senior Vice President of Development for Price Legacy Corporation, a publicly traded REIT. Among her responsibilities at Price Legacy, she performed due diligence and underwriting work to acquire and re-entitle land for residential uses. Prior to Price Legacy, she spent 15 years as a private developer and asset manager in the San Diego, California area.
Ms. Wilson holds a California real estate broker license; and received a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Finance from San Diego State University.
